Firing the Canon 430ex by another brand

Can someone tell me if there are any other flashes out there that will fire the 430ex aside from canon's own.

Sigma's EF530 DG Super and EF 500DG Super (older model) can function as masters in wireless E-TTL mode; people have reported mixed results with the 500DG Super controlling Canon's EX flashes though they might work. It's also possible that some of the other third-party E-TTL flashes around have wireless master functionality.

The Mezt 58AF-1, when used with the 30D, works well as a master to the 580EX, the 550EX and the 420EX so I'm going to assume that it'll work well with the 430EX as well. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the Metz when used with the 1D series cameras. Not sure how it'll work with the other EOS DSLR camera like the 40D and the DRebel series cameras, though.

The 430 won't fire satisfactory with optical slaves or eBay triggers.
