The 70-200 2.8 IS will probably produce excellent image quality on the 1Ds Mark II, but beyond 200 what zoom would do? Are there any tele zooms that would produce good or all right image quality on the Mark II.

The 100-400 L ISzoom is one of Canon's more popular lenses in this class. I've used it for over a year now and it produces very good images. With the MKII you get AF with the 1.4 TC as well.

The list of good Tele Zooms beyind 70-200mm would remain about the same for the 1Ds MkII as would be recomended in general.

The ones that come to mind immediately would be;

Canon 100-400mm L IS

Sigma models 120-300mm f/2.8 EX, and 100-300mm f/4EX, and possibly 50-500mm EX... although the latter would be pushing things.

Of course for the 1Ds MkII... Primes would be the most suitable for best image quality. The 1Ds "classic" was allready known to show the limitations of even the best zooms... so most 1Ds owners tended to stick with the high quality Primes instead.
