The millenium press in leeds millenium square, this is one of the very first images i took, i dont think its bad for a first??

Whilst the subject content does nothing for me, I feel the first might have a little more merit were it cropped down to remove the branch, which I find distracting. The only point of interest "to me" is the chimney and I would crop the picture to give that a little more impact and make it your focal point.

On the second one I see by the "exif info" that the f-stop was f5.6 perhaps a higher f-stop would have been better in reducing the flare of the sun. Or possibly a different angle hiding the bulk of the sun behind the crane.
