View Full Version : Macro ? on the canon 28-105 II USM

I hope this goes here its a lens ? :D
I just recieved my new lens i have been waiting for since feb. I got it yesterday and i didnt know it had the macro setting on it. Its a totally diff set upfrom my 70-300 with the macro. I tried reading info on how to use it, and i just couldn't get it to work those of you that have it have any advice for notes to give me im totally CLUELESS.

I have this lens, and what I've gathered is that "Macro" simply means that it can focus fairly close (17" I believe) even at max telephoto. You can get decent macros with this lens, but it is a touch soft at max telephoto so you'll need a little sharpening in Photoshop.

One could try macro with just about any lens given an ext. tube and/or a close-up lens, TC. Quality of the results will vary a lot.
