Er.. People actually do this? O.o I drive a Subaru Impreza Wagon, and stow my lighting kit in the back, but I don't customize it to photography, per se.

I find that a Leopard tank gets me most places I need to go as a photographer!

Heres my Hi Top Diahatsu V58LVZ Delta with 3.8 m. Zodiac Futura.
It had a shooting deck, made of aluminium 5mm. deck tread for shooting from the roof.
I made up the ladder from 18mm box steel and had it galvanized.
A tent can also be put up there. It also had woodenbulkheads to hold stands and tripods etc and hard points to secure a 25hp Yamaha boat motor, mountain bike etc.
Sold it in Feb. after 10 good years of service, as she was getting on, and we got a freebie company car. Also got a bug beetle convert so too many wheels. :D

RIght now... lol.... my parents car, either: white ford expedition, white f-350, or a small green crappy honda civic. ;) or, the photographer that I work for will drive me... In her Dodge Nitro, OR her crappy, about to die, Nissan somethin or other
Yeah, I am only 15...
But here is my awesome life plan:
I will buy a nice big white van, gut it, leave only the drivers seat, and use that as my house. Then behind it, I will tow my Lamborghini which I will drive to shoots ;) hahahahaha

This isn't mine, but I've worked here a few times. It's pretty cool. There is 7 photo viewing stations shown here, but there are currently 2 more on the back wall next to that door. Behind that door is a fridge, microwave, storage, a bunch of computer towers, and a Canon 13" wide photo printer (I can't remember the model #). There is one more computer station behind the wall to the bottom right of pic #2. Lets also not forget the 3 roof top AC units.

There is now also a 32"+ monitor outside on the back wall to get the customers inside.

I just put my stuff in the hatch on the Altima. As long as you have a nice looking car/ truck as looks do matter.

Our Prius has a cover over the truck. I usually take the gear with me, but the cover hides most things.

Not the 1 foot square cube of resin with my old Kodak SLRN embedded.
Making art out of junk!
The truck was a bit of a mess that day. More shots n another drive, some where......in the memory banks. :p

We used to have a platform on top of our vans, but I just stood on the roof of the Cherokee. Nothing on them said anything about photography. ;)

If you want to do it right:

This baby will easily fit your camera body in the trunk. If you want to leave the kit lens on, however, you may need to leave the rear hatch open.;)

I just went through a similar process. Versatility and security were my two top concerns. I decided on the Honda Ridgeline. The vehicle itself will go anywhere I am likely to need to go. Its well appointed inside, so hauling a few models around isnt a problem. It has underseat storage in the back for security, or the the backseats lift straight up, and will swallow all of my gear. It has a truck bed, so props and unusual sized items are simple to carry. But the best part is the trunk. Hidden inside the bed, the trunk is about the same size as the trunk on a full size cadillac, and holds a ton of stuff. I can get ALL of my equipment in there as well. Not only does the lid lock and disappear, but you can't even get to the latch when the truck is fully locked with the security system armed.
The new 2009 pilot has the same trunk feature. If its the same size as mine, you can carry all of your gear AND 8 people.

I like my car since its easy to find new models on the way to a shoot :) It has a lot of trunk room for storage, and its real easy to pass all the stupid Hybrids going 45MPH in a 65MPH zone.
