They say that you need to have a merchant account to accept credit cards. That will be a monthly charge from your bank and you will have the fees from the CC companies. It seem as if you also have to arrange the printing and handle the shipping charges along with paying for a web site.
If you use a service such as Exposure Manager (which I use) or Smugmug to name a couple, will handle the CC for you, they do the printing and the mailing to your customers. EM even brands the packing slips with your name. These services charge about $99 a year and take 10% from sales but the CC charges and headaches are theirs.
I now only take CC cards through my site. I also have no sales tax headaches
As with Photo Cart, these services allow you to set your own prices, give discounts, have some flexibility with the design of the site & give detailed sales reports. Exposure Manager pays you each month based on last month sales. It has worked out very well for me. Sales for my first year are much greater than I projected.

Doesn't PayPal take credit cards? Or, do the customers have to be PayPal members themselves?

Photo Cart is the best! You can accept credit cards through Paypal, no merchant account required.
