Nice pictures of a nice car...
I drove it once... but unfortunately not far and not on a highway...

The puddle under #1 makes me think that it would be a great shot of the car if you could park it over a large puddle or flooded spot and pick up the reflection of the car in the water.

Was the camera on a bracket for the last three? They're great, especially #5. What was your setup?

I like shot 5, 2, and 8 ... 2 could use a little more color saturation.

I'm not much of a car nut (my apologies for the rest of you, I mean that in the most kindest way) but those last few are just outstanding.

I would be interested in how you did these.

Thanks for the comments...3rd try at some automotive photography...I have a couple more photos I might share later, but I havent really processed these at all so I might edit them in PS now and post back with some newer ones...each time Ive gone out I've learned so much...black is hell to shoot too

One way that you could do that photo and I don't know if he did something familar. Is to use a sticky pod or something of the sort, ofcourse you would have to make some extensions and also bracing..

But otherwise.. it's just ingenuity at it's best. I love car photography.

Fantastic shots. Everything that I do is "of opportunity" photography; that is, I don't do set up shots. I take my camera with me and shoot whatever is in front of me. Your work here has me thinking that perhaps I should try some - well - choreographed shooting.

As far as critique goes:

1 and 2) A couple things. I find myself dazzled by the reflections. That is one shiny car. Eventually, I get past the simple fact of the reflections, and start looking at them. I try to figure out the surroundings. If you are looking to make a gret shot different (I don't even feel qualified to say "better"), then perhaps you could PS the reflections into something more non-specific.

Also, If you ever have a chance to re-shoot, try laying down water over the entire parking lot. Again, the reflections make the car. The partial reflection of the puddle makes me want more.

3 and 4) Fantastic motion shots. Is the BK too cyan or is that just my monitor.

5 - 8 ) All winners.

With respect to 5, how would is look is a square format. There is a lot of road there that might not add to the shot.

6) Clone out the reflection of the driver. (If that is you, hey, what can I say, sorry!)

7 and 8 ) Though there is a different color balance, they are both great. One thing though: There is a halo around the tire. Perhaps you could get rid of that.

In reverence to 5 - 8. What was the exposure times? How fast were you going - was the car moving under its own power, or did you roll it? What camera did you use and how did you trigger it?

Again, kudos. Great work. Without a doubt, you captured both the appearance and the spirit of the Z

Radtech1 - the funny thing is these really arnt all that prepped, if they were they would probably be 50x better...pure magazine quality stuff, but I am still learning, and there is so much too look out for when getting one of these shots, rig, speed, exposure, angles, lighting, paint color, reflections, background...its enough to kill a man...haha...I am more like you, I just go with the flow and hope something comes out of it, then learn what to look for from there. This was only my 3rd automotive attempt. Some random/other works can be seen in my photoblog located in my signature below...

thanks for the comments though! the still shots and dealing with the reflections is going to kill my mind, next time I will prep for these, go shout the day before or something...figure out what/where works and why then go back with some tyte lighting...live and learn eh? learning rocks...just such a slow damn process

Even still, great looking stuff. If you dont mind, I really was wondering the Qs from my above post. "In reverence to 5 - 8. What was the exposure times? How fast were you going - was the car moving under its own power, or did you roll it? What camera did you use and how did you trigger it?" Would you share the info. I guess what I am really wondering is what sort of technique (time, speed, etc) got you the shots WITHOUT vibration on the part of the camera? Intuition would tell me that even the most firmly bolted mount would vibrate some.

Thanks,

Rad

Those are awesome! Great work!

How did you pull off shots like the last 3-4 (especiallly the ones of the front of the car). I'd be interested in trying to do some shots like this.

YES!!!! excellent kick ass shots. And great usage of wide angle adapter and such. I can't say much more. There needs to be a new section for these type of photos, as I do not see the need for "critique" here. The impact is instant.

Great car and great shots! Love both aspects! So yeah, spill the beans though, how did you manage the motion shots? How was the camera attached, triggered etc?

haha...its not that, but its been guessed already...I keep getting questions that are the answers

besides, if you understand how a camera works and you have a good imagination, figuring it out in the first place shouldnt be hard...its what I had to do.

I do like 5-7. however, I've seen all the other shots before so it really doesn't hold my interest. Possibly a more interesting background and colors around it. Possibly even B&W.
