I haven't put up a picture here for quite some time so I decided I would for you to enjoy. As always feel free to say what you wish.

This building looks like it has seen better times.
But I have a hard time nailing down just what you were conveying here. Maybe I will stick my neck out and ask you.
Blair, what is it that you yourself find to be so compelling in this photograph ?

What I want the viewer to see is the all out contrast of the picture and how its subtlety of the dripping white lines draw your eye immediatly to the door, and once there your ey is drawn straight to the sign. It is not that I am trying to tell a story (although it would probably be easier), it is that I am trying to control the eye of the viewer. The reason why I chose not to make the red brighter is because I didn't want you to start there, but rather find that the sign is where you end up. Tell me if I have done this.
Thank you,
Blair

I can tell you what I think my eye is tracking.
1: I see the overall scene
2: ...but I get pulled to the white
3:... then I read the word Hayden
4:... then I see the scratches on the door
5:.. then the black horizontal bands
6: then when I back off I do see the dripping lines.
But I do not asssociate them with any eye-pulling force. That may be because I have to scroll the image -- given the low dpi of my current mnnitor setting.
