wow. Its been a while since I have posted here. It feels like forever.
Anyways. Since I last posted here I have gone through a couple changes. 1) my webserver that I hosted all my images on, crashed. that was exhilirating. 2) I moved everything over to smugmug and thusfar, love it and 3) I was hired to shoot a local tournament series which these pictures are from.
C&C welcome. Enjoy.

jdev,
nice seeing you over here from PbN ;)
I like the shots. Where are these from? I see UMass there, we played them last semester. I'm from the Springfield area, so I know a lot of MA teams.
I would crop tighter on them. Your best shot is your tightest shot. The exception is #1, I'd try not to cut the player, and show where he is going. Right now he just looks out of place.
I'll be shooting around MA once I get back from school, we should meet up.

Thanks.
These shots are from the Fox4 5-man tournament held last weekend. I vary on the shots and how much I crop them/shoot them. I spent a good hour of my day shooting closer to players on purpose to have a tighter picture.
If you come around the South shore area, let me know. I'll be around there shooting the Fox4 series all season.

I like #3... good reflection. Have you ever caught a high speed hit in process of splatting? I think catching close up of a mask shot as it breaks would be awsome, maybe not for the wearer... but it would look cool!

Try to get more practice with framing(ie #5) and cropping. There is no need to cut off barrels, backs of heads, arms, and legs.(ie # 1, 3, 4) Also, to make the shots more interesting, try to get streams of paint coming out of barrels or hitting people.

I have caught a couple, but nothing as close as I have that picture framed. Catching a splatter shot isn't as easy as it looks. A lot of it has to do with perfect timing and position.

I'll work better on 1 and 5. 3 and 4 were shot that way purposely. there is no cropping in any of those pictures, I framed them like this intentionally when I shot them. I like the look of them and how they appear. On 1 I am a little disappointed that i wasn't able to get everything in frame on the shot. I try every now and again to get paint coming out of the barrel, in fact in the gallery I have some in there. I also have some shots of people getting hit, though they arent the splatter shots that everyone looks for.
Nice, no splatter shots, but still very nice.
Nice job!
Thank you :)

I like #3 the gun reflection, and the field in the goggles are cool.

Very cool. I love paintball. It's almost as expensive as photography though lol. I agree #3 is the best.

If you play a lot it is extraordinarily expensive, but so much fun.

Not as much as racing though. And much safer.

heh. My one lens is worth more than all my current gear. I would say that Photography has surpassed paintball as my most expensive hobby. :)

I agree with you there, its hard to have both - really expensive hobbies.
Nice Photos!
