View Full Version : Zoombrowser 3.1 thumbnails problem

If I edit an image, say in Photoshop (for example, crop, resize, levels, sharpen), and then save it with a new filename in Zoombrowser, the new file has the same thumbnail as the original. This is true even if I refresh the folder.

In other words, I can't identify the edited image visually from its thumbnail, which is a pain. Even an extreme change such as converting to B&W doesn't appear. I presume Zoombrowser is displaying the internal jpeg thumbnail. But ~ is there any way of forcing it to show an updated thumbnail?

This isn't only a problem with Zoom browser 3.1 - my copy of Breezebrowser 2.1 does exactly the same. Perhaps the answer is to update the embedded thumbnail - but how do you do that?

I believe the latest version of Breezebrowser will update the embedded thumbnail for you.

YES! I discovered late last night that Breezebrowser 2.2 can do exactly this. Thanks are due to Chris Breeze, this is a small but really useful function. BBv2.2 also has excellent noise reduction which has cleaned up some low light interior shots beautifully. I am now going to register it.

I have found this with this version of ZB but if you save the image again (clicking on thumbnail and saving again) (I know you will lose some resolution), the edited, cropped and B&W image will show in the thumbnail as it should be - edited, cropped and B&W! You can then delete the thumbnail which did not show the changes.
