Ok, my oldest son had a baseball game so i decided to try shooting baseball for the first time. I've had my first DSLR, a Canon 30D for about a month and a half now.
I guess i'll start myself, i guess from looking at more baseball pictures here, i might have been on the wrong side of my son when batting. Got there late so just got a chance to shoot a couple innings. Thanx for checking them out and any CC would be appreciated

I really like #3. Maybe slightly more to the right to expose more of his face, but great shot.
Nice job for your first time!

Just out of curiosity... what are you shooting with? I see the 30D, but what about the lens?

Thank you. I've been shooting my 30D for about month and a half, very diferent from the A640 point and shoot i had.
This is my first time shooting any sports, dont have many interesting shots cause i got there late and the time my son caught a ball in the outfield i was busy chasing my other 4 kids so i missed the shot
Heres another one, i like it cause it looks like he's as bored as i was lol.

"bored"...lol, thats why my son doesn't play baseball. He likes baseball practice, but hates the game! He swims and does basketball and soccer and cross country instead.

I wish you had left the EXIF information in the images so we could see what your settings were.
Things like exposure information, ISO, focal length, f/stop, etc.
I like the last one best because the background is soft (out of focus).
Maybe crop # 2 & 3 tighter to cut out the stuff that is not important to the picture.
Nice work for the first try.

Very nice!
Question?
Did you shoot these thru a fence?

Focal Lenght - 209mm
Shutter speed - 1/500
F/5
2nd picture:
ISO - 800
Focal Lenght - 180mm
Shutter speed - 1/500
F/4.5
3rd picture:
ISO - 400
Focal Lenght - 130mm
Shutter speed - 1/2500
F/4.5
Last picture:

These are a very good start. Don't get frustrated. Shooting baseball is very tough compared to most other sports and takes a lot of trial and error.

The shots hitting, I'd suggest trying to capture the ball somewhere in the frame.
#2 is pretty cool how the catcher and umpire are both looking up like "holy crap!".
The base running shot is great with the foreground blurred the way it is. Is the kid on the base behind him saying "$h!^"?
Nice work. My daughter just turned three, I hope to be shooting T-ball next year, maybe to be the team/league photog??
