Hey jus started here and is very interested in buying a brand new digital slr. Help me cuz i am interested in buying a canon but wat should i buy? i hav no clue where to start. please help

How much are you looking to spend? Without a budget it is impossible to recommend anything.

XT with kit lens can be had for $440~$450 which leaves a little left over for a CF card, a bag, tripod and such

XTi with kit lens can be had for just under $600. Its a better camera, has better autofocus, more MP, sensor cleaning and such.

The e-510 is just under $600 as well. It's a nice body but clearly folks here, myself included are going to believe Canon offers a better camera. One area Canon really shines especially in the less expensive models is sensor noise at the higher ISOs. The XT or XTi is going to deliver a much cleaner picture at ISO 400 and above.

Nikon D40 can be had for under $500, well under, but you get what yo pay for.

If your willing to go used, there are still some 20Ds and an occasional 30D for sale in decent shape somewhere in the $500~600 range as well.
