sRGB or Adobe RGB on 20D camera setting

Just learning my 20D. Should I use sRGB or Adobe RGB for my color space in the camera settings. I use my images only for printing on my desktop printer and viewing images on my computer.

If you'll be printing on photo paper on a fairly new printer you'll want to use Adobe RGB which uses a larger color space. And you should consider shooting a lot of your images in RAW format to take advantage of 16bit color instead of 8bit through JPG mode.

You also need to take into account what software you will be using for printing or for processing your picture. Not all software works with aRGB while all of it works with sRGB.

If you plan on posting your pictures on the web you'll need to convert to sRGB anyway since most web browsers don't have colorspace capabilities and are built to work with sRGB as depicted in jpg images.

Where at all possible I would choose AdobeRGB as the wider colour gamut is much more preferable than the standard SrGB.

If you shoot Raw, the setting in the camera doesn't matter. When you go to convert in DPP or EVU you can choose which color space you want.
sRGB is mostly for web graphics or if you plan on printing at an outside lab. If you have a good photo printer with a large color gamut, use Adobe RGB.
