Hi

Sorry this may not be the correct forum, but you guys have been so good in the past, I need some help.

I need a lighting kit, but not for studion work, just to add some light to group shots at a wedding. Its my first full year in Wedding photography, and so far I have been lucky as not to require a kit.

As usual I have been advised on 2 different forms. Continuous and Flash kits. I use a 10D by the way.

Anyone got any thoughts. I wont be using them for portraits and I estimate not to use them that often throughout the year. The disadvantages with Flash I am being told is possible service costs, but I am green to all this , can u please help.

Continuous lights and studio lights have their place in a studio.

However, for on-location shooting, like at a wedding, you probably do not want to be spending all your time fooling around with cables. So, that is where flash works best. One flash on a bracket can do good things. Two or more, perhaps using the Canon wireless system, can do even more.

A lot can also be done outside with a big foldaway reflector, if you have an assistant to hold it that is.
