Has anyone tried this paper on the i9900 printer. If so what are your comments and how would you compare it to the Canon or Epson high gloss papers.
Thanks
Jerry

Not quite an answer to your question cos I have Epson photo 950 - but have stacks of Ultima waiting to be unloaded on some unsuspecting passer-by!

I prefer the Canon Photo Paper Pro to the Kodak Ultima on the i9900. It's much glossier and a bit sharper. Colors are quite good on both.

I tested Kodak Ultima on my Canon i560 with poor results. It was ok if you look straight at the image. If you tilted the paper it looked grainy and different objects appeared to have different thicknesses of ink on the paper. Through testing Epson, Kodak, and Canon paper I've found Epson is by far the best for my i560. I'm not about to buy the Pro paper from canon - just too expensive.

A year or more ago, I was trying all sorts of paper, including Kodak Ultima, in my ancient Epson 1270. After going through a couple of packages of each type, I found my most consistent results were with Epson Premium Luster or Glossy. The Ultima stuff seemed slow to dry, and it seemed to do a slight color shift while drying. With Epson papers, drying is about ten seconds.

Using a color managed workflow with the similar Canon 960 printer, I've had NO success getting accurate color with Kodak Ultima nor Kodak Professional papers. The Kodak papers are very nice in manufacturing quality, and I like the the less reflective/less glossy lustre finish for portrait/candid pictures, but the yellows and greens do not reproduce accurately. I do soft proofing and still can't adjust.
So my Kodak paper was donated to a colleague. I now am using Canon's new Semi-Gloss paper for accurate color repro with the lustre paper finish and getting superb results. This Canon paper is not widely available yet (mail order) but has that lustre finish. Ilford Classic pearl finish has provided good results also, as do others.

I am surprised to find I ma having great sucess with Ilford papers. the very affordable "Printasia - Premium Photo Glossy" gives me results at least as good as Canon Photo plus.... the jury uis out when compared to "pro" but as the Ilford is less than half the cost of "Canon Photo Pro" I'm going to use the Ilford anyways.
