Hello all.
First of all I should state right out of the gate, I don't think that I even qualify as a novice. I am the owner of a, now very old, Elan lle with a 28-80mm, 75-300mm, and a 380EX. Even though my intentions were good when I got the camera, I have no schooling, at all, in photography. So please, take it easy on me.

This, I am sure, will be a very silly question to most. I have wondered, ever since the coming of the digitals, did Canon start from scratch with the bodies of the digitals, or did they add an A/D converter and an LCD screen to the old 35mm bodies?

I find now that I have a roll of film in the Elan for months instead of days now that I have a little Toshiba digital, that I won in a raffle, with no wait time to use up and develop the film. If I did ever break down and buy a digital Rebel, would I be able to at least use my lenses and flash with it?

Thanks, from a newbe.

They made all new bodies.. but all that stuff is still totally compatible.

As long as the equipment says "EOS" .. it will all work.
