It is the first nice weather day of the spring that I wasn't working so I took the Mach1 for a cruise. I'm new to using the DSLR and without a tripod, most pics with the 300mm non-IS lens were not very sharp. Here are a couple that worked out IMO. I can't wait for summer so I can practice and really learn what I'm doing!!

First shot looks a little blurry. Love the 4th, got any pulled out wider?

just this one. shakey hands, impatients, non-IS lens and no tripod make for nearly all of my shots being blurry. oh well, the REAL pleasure is driving the car too and from :D:D:D

Nice shots, but what's up with all of that "graffiti" on the asphalt?

it's a short dead-end road where they test the paint & machines before putting down new lines on the road. I like it, it makes it more intersting.

if the car was focused in #3, it would have been ace

if the 40+ that didn't turn out were focused it would have been ace too! note to self: get tripod and speed up shutter when at full zoom on a sunny day. I'll get there soon enough, especially with the help from this site.

Not yet, I've just been introduced to this site so there is a ton I need to find and read :). but thanks for posting it! I now know how I'll be spending the evening - it looks like a very interesting and informative read. I have so much to learn but it is so much fun! thanks again.

Did you try shooting at a higher ISO?
That would shorten your shutter speeds to help with not having a tripod.

A little post processing will probably help.
A little more contrast (or adjusting the curves) to bring out the colours as well as some unsharpen mask to sharpen the pictures up a bit.

I'll try changing the ISO next time, but until I get PS or some other software, I'm pretty limited for post processing. Thanks for the tips!

Gorgeous car, and lots of good detail in your images. I like the way the second one was set up. ;)

Thanks! It took me a while to get it just like that. It was the best angle given the rising sun and this was the only way I could get the yellow/black markers not in the pic (see #1 for what I mean). I just wish the telephone pole was not there.

I like the second shot the most. It would also look really good if you climb on an 8' ladder and take the same angle but a bit from above. This model mustang is my favorite by far.

While I've always kind of been partial to Camaro's, that there is pretty much the 1 yr/style of Mustang that I really do like. Of course, the real desirable 'stang that rides atop the favorites list is the one that has that little bitty snake emblem on the side, 429 CJ maybe?!? ;););)
