No I do not want to compete with flickr, etc - there is no point ! I love flickr. Infact, I would encourage members to upload in flickR and then repost in the site.

But what I want to do is get on a more personal and demographic level with my country.

A site that would only showcase photos and photographers from Bangladesh.

Here are the features I thought about

- Photography tutorials. Some made by me and others posted with permission from other people.

- Short videos on how to use the site to its best.

- Monthly contest with small prizes (memory cards, etc - funded by.. me )

- Seasonal or Quarter Year contest (sponsored by other people/companies, would take some time for this to happen though).

that is it basically.

Do you have any ideas that I can add to it ?

Do you have any tutorials, videos that you would like to share on the site ?

Contributions would be highly appreciated :) even though the site is for my country only.

Thanks everyone

I would suggest that you speak to someone who has experience in setting up photography web sites for localized areas.

No, I won't leave you hanging like that.

If you go to www.californiaphotoforum.com or www.texasphotoforum.com and speak to the moderator there, he may be able to give you a few pointers. It's the same guy who started both of them. His name is Abel, and you can tell him Killjoy sent you.
