View Full Version : Integrating EE with photo archive software

I'm using IMatch (www.photools.com) to archive my digital photos. I'm happy with its functionality as an archive system, but its ability to serve as a web album generator is limited. EE is much more powerful in that respect, but of course it raises the question of integration: How to link IMatch and EE so that their contents would be synchronized? Of course, the linkage should be only partial, as EE would contain not all the images inserted to IMatch.

I'm not able to specify in detail exactly how closely EE and the archive should be bound together, more like looking for ideas in how to organize the photos as an archive and how to generate albums to internet without any overlap in managing the categories of photosets and attributes of individual photos.

I could consider switching to another archive system, if it would make life easier. As a hobbyist I'm not looking for any system with professionals in focus, though.

Any views appreciated,
Jouni

To link Imatch and EE you can use the IPTC tags in Imatch to describe your images. EE imports the IPTC tags into the description of the image.
