Your Bliss

So what is your moment of "bliss"? That time when you can sit back and just go Ahhhhh.

For me it just happened. Its a cool spring night in the garage after a fine home cooked meal with my wife and dog. John Coltrane on the radio. Her with a glass of wine, me with a .70 cent bottle of beer and a cuban cigar. Throwing the frizbee for the dog talking about moving to Aruba when we retire. I'm not rich by any means but I couldnt ask for more.:-)

Whats that moment for you.

I had a moment of bliss today at Arlington Camera. After 6 months with no DSLR, I finally broke down and got a 5D. I'm sure there are more blissful moments, but this is mine for now! ;)

I often find bliss in small things... and travel. Recent moments include camping up in the mountains on my own for a night, doing sunrise and waterfall shots before driving up through the cloud layer and sitting on top looking out at the other peaks across the clouds... there's something magical about that.

Also recently.. spending time with my lady friend. I never realised spending time with someone could be so fulfilling until I met her.

My moment of bliss comes when I see stars following the event in Jim's avatar.

But really...true moments of bliss are when I can do nothing. I go on fishing trips with relatives just so that I can...that's right, do nothing. Just breathe in the salty breeze, feel it running through my hair, blowing gently into my ears as I dump an ice-cold cola down my throat.

And then I wake up.

When that first sip of Lao coffee slides over my tongue in the morning..

That moment when all the PPing is done and everything that is in queue is being uploaded. Or more precisely, the moment after Comcast's evil anti-file sharing software has kicked in and the upload resets itself and continues on (at a much slower pace) meaning no more user intervention is required.

My moment of bliss happens every Friday night...knowing I don't have to wake up for friggin' work the next day.
