...no not a Kiss Digital of a Digital Rebel Limited Edition, they are releasing a black 300D doen here in NZ (I assume Australia and UK as well).
I wonder if anyone will be trading their silver 300D's?
Interestingly enough the black bodied Kiss Digital has been available on the grey market here for a number of months, although with a $200NZ premium on the price tag, well people have been paying it!
Personally I tried to find a silver 20D :P

http://parallelimported.co.nz had these when I was buying my 300D a couple of months back. I went for the silver - what do I care what color it is? It draws a bit of attention, but nowhere near as much as a big L type lens - not that I have any of those, yet...

Does anyone paint their telephoto lenses white?
When I was in India I saw a car (not sure what it really was) made to look like a merc, had all the badges, including the hood ornament

What's your point? Seriously, I can't work out what it is.

There is no real point, just banter. I just find it fascinating that people would be worried about the appearance of a given tool, sometimes more than the actual functionality of that tool. This phenomena obviously exists, otherwise Canon wouldn't have released a black 300D to improve sales, nor would nor would parallel importers bring them in and charge extra for them.
Don't take me too seriously this week, I'm venting (almost Friday, come on Friday!)

I've been off work for a few days, I forgot it was Thursday - I thought it was monday - I better be careful not to come to work Saturday!
Sometimes not being noticed is good for photography. Muggers are some people i'd like not to be noticed by, especially if i'm carrying around $4K worth of camera gear. Also sometimes you want photos of people without having to get their permission, or when they're not aware of the camera.

Perhaps I should be off work, spending too much time on this forum and not enough time writing the documentation I should be working on (I hate documentation).

True. I have my trusty G3 is good for that won't get mugged for it and you can hold it at your waist, and people don't realise you are shooting, that is changing though as more people become aware of digicams.

I tried using my A70 last week, and it just felt like a toy. It takes so long to take photos after you click the button, and you have feck all control. The image quality of the 300D with the Tamron lens also blows it completely away.
