How do I get rid of the guy in the background and the sign as well.

If it were me, I would copy&paste from another shot taken of the same area. Hopefully you have some wall somewhere that does not have her shoulder in it. This would allow you to carry the wall all the way to the left of the frame.

Second choice, clone and or copy&paste the corner as it is. The edge of the door behind her would make a good replacement edge for the wall for the dark half. The problem would be getting/creating an edge for the wall/carpet junction.

Radtech1 has some good ideas. But I would go one step further and blur out the background a little so that you don't have to worry about matching any of the details in the background like the design patterns of the carpeting.

AAMOF, if you go with the blurred background, you don't even have to worry about cloning anything out. Just "fuzzy" out the details of the person and the sign in the background a little so that when you blur the background, you won't be able to tell that there's a person and a sign there.
