Hi, everyone. I'm new here so I thought I'd introduce myself.

My real name is Len. I live in Indiana just across the border from Chicago, IL.. I'm 49 yr.s old and have been a steelmill mechanic for almost 29 years (exciting so far, huh?). I've been marrried for 15 yr.s and have a 27 yr. old stepson that I just can't get rid of. I have 3 dogs, 2 full breed pugs and 1 half pug/half rat terrier, hence the name "Pugdaddy". I am a hobbiest magician.

I was never one to take a lot of photos untill I picked up my A75 about 2 months ago. This thing is blowing me away. I love it, so far. I believe I got real lucky choosing this camera. I did the usual research and learned about megapixels and zooms and went shopping. To tell you the truth I bought this particular camera because it looked "professional" to me. Now that I've read a half dozen reviews I'm tickled pink.

I signed up for a digital photography class that begins in Jan. It's held for 3 hours per class, one day a week for 7 weeks. I'm really looking forward to it.

Pugdaddy:

Welcome. I have an A70 (I bought it a few months before the A75 came out). Except for my advanced case of envy I am really happy with it. Enjoy taking photos. I think you've taken a good path. But take pictures! Snap everything. Don't wait for the class.

I own a A80. Inspired by the quality of pictures that it can take, i also bought a more advanced camera also - the G6. I didnt sell the A80 though i bought the G6 coz, i find it pretty handy at times...

So, keep shooting... U r in the digital world with no threat on film cost.

Thanks for the welcome, guys. I've been shooting lots and enjoying it more than I thought I would. Got a couple of real favorites out of a couple hundred shots. Like you said, the beauty of digital.

I originally bought the camera because I got a new puppy and wanted some good shots of him but this has quickly turned into a new hobby.

I'm looking forward to displaying some of my work ( ) when I learn how.
