Have a couple of questions about printing. What do you all prefer, glossy, matte or lustre? Does it make a difference behind glass or do you decide based on the subject of the photo? Also, how large can a photo taken on a 10D be blown up to safely?

And the big one that has been driving me nuts! I try and compose my shot just as I want them. I don't like to crop my pictures if I don't have to. The problem is, because my shots are "just as I want them" when I print them and go to mat them I end up losing a lot of the visible picture due to the size of the frame. For instance, I had a 10X 15 printed. Now, had I printed it at a "normal size," 8X10, etc. my print would have been cropped during the printing process. Either way it ends up cropped, either by the mat/frame or during the printing process. How do you all handle this? Any suggestions?

As a general rule, I perfer glossy for color and matte for monochrome. The matte seems to give me a blacker black.

I use 13x19 all day long without any problem. However, if your shots lack the really crisp sharpness, look here. (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=48272)

NOW you have a problem. Did you know that "just as I want them" is a custom size? Can't go to the stock frame rack at Aaron Brothers and find a size called "just as I want them"! So what you are asking for is a custom size shot to fit in a stock size frame. Uh-Oh. You have to be willing to do one of two things, either, pay LOT$$$$$$$$ of coin to buy or cut custom mats and frames, OR, crop your shots to stock sizes. Cant do both, sorry.

PS There is a problem with your gallery. When I am on the pages and I Right Click to go Back, there is a pop up that says something about a copyright. So then I have to close the pop up, then mouse up to the top of my browser window, find the Back button there. After about 3 times it becomes way too much hassle. There is nothing that gets me close someones gallery faster than them making it hard to use. Needs Fixin.

Thanks for the info, that helps. Just seems odd to have take a picture with extra room around the perimiter just for framing purposes :(

As for the gallery, you cannot right mouse click to access the back button (the right mouse click is turned off so no one can save or copy the pictures to file) but the back button does work as do the links at the top of the page. With the back button being just one click and the right mouse click being two, I wouldnt think anyone would be using that to navigate through a website. Thanks for the input :D
