Pro1 mayby G6

i purchased the pro1 lanite mainly to shoot moving images such as skateboarding.... the camera delay is so bad that i missed so many shots and i used the pre focus and made sure the settings were set

i went home and put it down and need to find out if their is a way to change this or if i need to return it and get a G6 which is said to be meant for sports

Who said the G6 was meant for sports? They were wrong - the G6 will not allow you to catch any of the pics that you missed with the Pro 1. In fact - the shutter lag would most likely be worse.

If you can to really catch fast action - you are not going to be satisfied for the most part until you get a DSLR.

You can use the "hyperfocal" method to get action shots with your Pro 1 - I would suggest reading up on that method.

If you are shooting action with a digital, you need to learn hyper focal, or if it is possible, focus the camera, and then hit manual to lock it there. Then set the exposure manually and you will have a great response time.

Or you can lock on the focus and exposure with a half press of the button, then wait for the action.

it definitely takes its own tecnique to shot any type of action with a digital.
I find it easier and faster to use my old manual foucus SLR, but i am getting better with the digital.

how bout you setup your shot before you take a picture of your subject and press the button halfway to get the camera ready to shoot and then press it down to capture... where's lag? uhh no lag. problem solved.

of course continous shooting clarity would depend on how much light is available and the size of the photo you want to capture.

personally, i think that the camera is just a tool. we have to do what we can to maximize its use. depressing a button halfway to me just means, i'm ready to capture my subject. i'm ready.
