#1. you should make a tighter crop to remove the arms of the women on the right
#3. for future reference, you should increase your shutter speed to minimize camera shake because this picture is blurry
#7. this just looks like a candid shot
#10. probably my favorite

there is a different color cast on each of these pictures. overall i think you did ok. you could play with post processing to make the images stand out and more vibrant.

Some nice shots in there! I particularly like the cake shot (#6), but that is a bit dark along with some of the other ones. Did you use a flash?

Some great shots there.

I agree that some additional PP will help a lot. Many of them seem underexposed and/or need to be white balanced.

i really like 2 and 9. i agree with above. increased shutter speed might help

I really have issues with increasing the shutter speed and keeping an image sharp. Any suggestions? For this wedding, most pics were taken at ISO 200 with a place and on shutter speed of 60 or so.

Thanks!

Thanks! The first thing you could do is use your flash more often (or increase FEC if you are using it). You've got a pretty decent kit and the flash would help on most of those pics that are underexposed.

If you are avoiding flash for one reason or another, try ISO 400. I'm not sure how the IQ of the XT is at that speed, but it's worth giving it a try. I believe going any higher would produce quite a bit of noise.

Of course, you could always get faster lenses or get a new body with better high ISO performance, but use what you have now until you hit its limitation.

Edit - Also, if you are shooting in RAW, you can improve many of these shots in PP. Still, it would be better to get exposure down when shooting.

Huge mistype - with a place and - I meant to say FLASH. Sorry about that. But anything in a dark spot was taken with a Flash bounced off of the white card.

You may want to play with your flash setting a little more. Try more power (FEC somewhere between +1 and +2) and different bounce angles. Maybe only 45 degrees instead of straight up. With that flash, you should not have any exposure problems.

Is there a good place to learn more about the 580 flash - settings and such? Strobist is great for setting up, but I don't know my flash that well.

Thanks!

I haven't gone through this whole thread yet, but I've seen it linked to a few times, so it's probably worth the read.

Looking at the exif:

Focal Length: 36.0mm
Exposure Time: 0.067 s (1/15)
Aperture: f/10.0
ISO equiv: 400

I would suggest dropping the aperture to at least f4 or wider which will put your shutter speed above your focal length. 1/15 sec is too slow for handheld really. You used flash so you can go with a faster shutter speed.

You got some nice shots though.
