So we were all set up to shoot a wedding on Sunday, but I was not feeling great about the angle of getting everyone coming down the aisle. There was a large drape behind where the groom was standing, and 2 minute before the ceremony I took a test shot from behind it and liked the effect -- so I took the shots shooting behind the curtain.

What do you think -- did my last minute change work ok?

Thanks!

One more that I converted to a bronze effect.

Very nice and refreshing true PJ.

A breath of fresh air.

Well done.

Definitely works with the bronze effect. Worth a try on all of them.

the first two images don't really work for me. the groom and the curtains are a little too distracting, however the bronze one looks better. keep trying your creative ideas though.

For one shot I don't mind it, but my guess will be that they will want to know why there is a drape in front of your shots? Did you take any shots without the drape?

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I was shooting with my wife, who was on the "other side" getting the same shots (that's one of the great things about having a second shooter -- we can try new things, knowing that the other is getting the same shot from a different angle!). If I would have had more time before the ceremony I would have tried to move the curtain a little to reduce how much it distracts from the picture -- but I didn't have that luxury :)

I'll play with a few more tonight with different effects to see if I can make the bride and groom stand out more. Hopefully they will like some of them -- we'll see.

I agree with David, the first two don't really work but the third one does. I think that the landscape perspective (plus a little less zoom) works better because you see more of the curtain which allows the viewer to understand the effect. The tight portrait shots don't allow this and all you get is two vertical stripes which look wrong.

3rd one is cool.

as above maybe for a couple of shots but not for the whole ceremony. good to hear you had a 2nd shooter!
