I have some pics I took of a couple and the bride to be was wearing a very nice dress. It was white shinny and with a bit of pink in it.
The florescence was making accurate color correction an issue due to the whiteners added to the fabric.

How do you best deal with this?

I tried several approaches.
The straight forward (WB fix) makes the dress white, shinny not white-pinkish shinny.

The other way would be by boosting up the colors and using a mask so the whole pic does not have a red color cast (a bit time consuming).

I'm open to suggestions on how to best approach this.

What kind of white balance adjustment did you make?

I did the WB tool in ACR on the RAW file and sampled a white shirt in the pic
and I also did the digital "gray card" (Chip Springer's digital gray card).

These both worked OK but due to the fact that this particular color was very faint+the whiteners in the fabric (I suspect) this would turn the dress almost totally white.
