Been messing around with a tutorial I found on generating light rays. Here's a before and after, what do you think?

Close, but not perfect. They are still too visible for me. Blur them up a tad more so the stripes are not that clear!
A part from that good work, strong colors and contrast! I like it

You've certainly picked a great subject with which to experiment.
Agree with krusnof however... Still too defined. Need to look more ephemeral...variations in brightness of the blue itself. Less so as cloud streaks I think.
Keep at it, you'll nail it for sure!! :)

Agree with the others. Good initial effort, but a bit too much. As one poster said, blurring the rays may help...especially those to the left of the main tombstone subject.
Great image. Love the composition.

here's a real one, notice how there's a gap between the clouds and the start of the light..

While I was driving yesterday coming home I looked up and saw rays popping through the rain clouds. It looked really fake because the beams were shooting in different angles near each other. I wish I had my camera with me at the time.

But you need fog to have light rays.
Just wait until the temperature drops from hot to cold and take a picture.

I like the raw 2nd pic. The edited version has some over burned area on the left behind the tombstone. You cant see the ray there anymore.
Awsome location though and great shot all together.
What does the headstone say?

Sunrays gotta be parallel to each other when the sun is to the side. The way you show it, it looks like there's a UFO above the ship. ;)

I will admit, this isn't the best image to demonstrate the effect, but it's all I had here at work. Hmmmm....I wonder if there are more tutorials on sunrays.

And why do they have to be parallel? They aren't parallel in Bobster's image and that's a "real" one. Hmmm....disorder in the Universe...that can't be good. ;-)

There's a difference, if they're coming from the side at 90 degrees do you, then can't.
If you're looking straight on a backlit church, they'll be radial. :rolleyes:
