Mini tripod for SLR required

Anyone know where I can get one of these from?

Looking for a mini bean bag option or gorilla pod style ones... either way it needs to be strong but really small for landscape shoots. Need to get down low on the ground for some shots.

You seem to have named the best ones in your post! Gorilla pods and bean bags are both very nice for low stable shooting.

Heh YellaFella. I don't use Gorilla pods although I've heard good things about them.... but I have used bean bags. Thing is I got one from a gun shop. Its a cushion for target shooters and comes in various sizes. Mines in Camo and is waterproof. Also has a zip so you can reduce the amount of polystyrene balls in it. Also handy for sitting on when taking shots. Keeps the old bum dry.

Don't know why you need one for Landscape shots though. Lying down and hand supporting my camera seems to work well enough.

Also as an after thought.... my Manfrotto 055PROB has the facility to shot from very low down.
Thought about buy a new tripod?

If you go for a Gorillapod, get the Zoom SLR model not the smaller SLR. It will need to be mashed down pretty flat in most cases.

Get a gorillapod zoom if you go with gorillapod, I doubt the other SLR gorillapod is strong enough to hold more than just the kit lens. I picked mine up with some cheap ball head from BH, I'd recommend that. It would be a huge pain to adjust the tripod to get a level picture without it. Also works for attaching it to railings and taking shots at different angles etc.

For landscape shots that need to go down low, nothing is more sturdier or convenient than RRS ground pod with right angle viewfinder. I only carry this combo when traveling or hiking. But it's expensive.

Ive got the Manfrotto and it will handle heavy camera glass combo if balanced.
