Hi!
got the chance of testing some sigma lenses. her 2 examples of the 8mm fisheye. was really funny. and its really wide ;) but I wouldt buy myself one of these....
1: ISO 400, 1/13 F4

Picture 1 seems to be taken with a 1.6x crop camera, as you said, but picture 2 seems to be taken with a 1.3x crop camera (1D or 1D Mark II), am I right?

Nah,the first image was cropped more to hide the food stains on his jumper :lol:

That's really odd then. It almost looks like the sensor coverage is inversely related to the focussing distance. The 8 mm Sigma should cover a 22 mm image circle as it's a true 180 degree fisheye. At a guess, I'd say the first pictrure was focussed at 6-7 ft, while the second was more like 4 ft. The only other thing I can think of is that you were right up to the window and we're seeing the edge of the window rather than the actual limits of the lens' image coverage. A couple of inches either way, in that case, would have made a significant difference in the picture.

I wonder what that would look like on a 1Ds :) (you could probably see your ears in the picture)
