Hi,
I'm considering buying my girlfriend a Powershot A400 for Christmas. She isnt really a photographer who goes out and looks for shots, but she takes quite a few snaps of herself and her friends.
At the moment she has an old compact camera and gets them developed by some pretty bad developers back home in Russia.
She really liked my photos I took with my A80 and she has a computer and is pretty good with it so I think its time for her to have a Canon digicam. :D
I'd be a bit embarressed spending a lot on it, and quite frankly worried about it being stolen etc. so Im after a small compact camera (by Canon of course as I believe they are the best).
I read about the A400 on Steve's digicams and it looks great. The sample photos are definately good enough for her and it still has a nice array of features.
The only complication is the Ixus I which retails for another £40ish. Is it worth the extra? The extra megapixel is nice, but I dont think she'll be bothered when she is used to blurry 6x4s.
Is there any REALLY bad points to the A400? I had trouble finding a review of the Ixus I so I cant compare! that's why I'm here really :)
Thanks for your help!
