View Full Version : Help printing to Epson R2400

I can't seem to use PSE color controls when printing to my R2400 using the SPR2400 PremiumGlossy ICC profile. Whenever I try I get images that are either too dark or heavy in the magenta either on preview and in printing. The attached image shows a print preview which is way too magenta. (the printed image is much darker than the preview would indicate and sometimes too magenta as well) When I turn off PSE color control and specify that the Printer controls color the preview is normal but the image is usually dark unless I specify Photo Enhance.
I use the "Best Photo" option in all cases with premium glossy paper. Images are all sRGB. This problem occurs with a calibrated LCD monitor or without calibration. I bought a Spyder II in an attempt to fix but it did not help. So now I just let the printer control color and use Photo Enhance and with a little experimenting and wasted paper I eventually get OK results; but usually I have to brighten my images on the monitor to where they look washed out - but print OK. Any ideas?

If you let PS manage colors, make sure you disable the printers color adjustments.
I don't know PSE, but you might want to have a look in the link from my sig: There is a link about printing using .icc profiles.

edit: When using this printer and print using the (downloaded from epson) .icc profile, I get a spot on soft proof to print match in PSCS3.

Thanks for the reply. I do disable printer color mgmt when I use PSE controls and I'm using the Epson .ICC profile. I take it your print preview is also spot on?

I don't know that preview: I'm on OSX with PSCS3...

AFAIK the print preview isn't accurate though. I never look at it other then to see if an image will fit the page :p

Read the link to double check you're doing it okay.

If that doesn't help, maybe post a step-by step
