Well, after so many times looking at other peoples macro shots, I decided it was time now to share some of mine. let me know what you think. these were all shot with my S3IS last January. Now I no longer have that camera. and I am looking into getting a real Macro lens. C&C always welcomed. I joined POTN so that I could become a better photog. Thanks for making this place such a friendly and awesome community.

Thanks Brooke!

That was one of my favorites too! I like the composition of that one the best. but I am notoriously bad at composition.

Nice quality here. I like the nail. The detail on the head is unbelievable! As far as composition goes, I think these are okay. I've always thought macro is the most forgiving for composition. I think #2 & #4 are most effective because they fill the fram with detail, especially #4. Nice ones Z

Thanks alan! one of these days (when I get my macro lens) I am sure I will get some better shots of these. I do want to see what it does with a true 1:1 macro not a P&S, even though I was impressed with the DOF on these due to the incredibly small sensor.

I like the quality of light you were working in. Early morning or evening before the sun set... It gives it a real nice feel. With the pod, I'd remove the distracting pink half circle on the bottom left edge.

Well done.

Z, I concur.

Now, #1 I wish the main part on the right were in focus and the chain blurred off into infinity. I don't really care for how the middle is the only thing in focus.

#2. great detail on the nail.

#3. I like the colors here but the photo doesn't really do anything for me.

#4. I agree with jeff on this one but I also wish you had gotten all of the spiny ends in the frame instead of chopping some of them off.

Still, a nice set. :)

Thanks Tiff! :D when I edit these I will see what I can do there on number 3. personally I liked the green so never thought of changing anything. but maybe a gray... or selective color? I will have to play with them.
