I thought I'd try this, more out of curiosity then anything else, and really like the look myself. I'm just looking for different options for photography comps, and trying a few things, then just straight colour prints. I'm inclined to think only certain images work really well in Sepia Tone.

Thoughts??

I think the sepia tone works good in this image, but as you said I only think it works on certain images.

i'd like to see it in color, just because i'm so used to snowcross images being white with lots of color on the rider/machine to draw the eye.

all in all though, GREAT shot!

Thats the thing........we are all so used to seeing and thinking in colour. I wanted to gauge others thoughts on thinking outside the box with an image.

I regret I didn't do a couple shots in my CSRA Snowcross year in review book like this.

Different is good, as I am gauging from all the positive comments I recieved in this thread.

I always shot head on or side shots before. Now this year, I started shooting from behind, and people loved the perspective of what it felt like to be chasing another racer. I went outside my comfort zone, and it worked.

If you keep doing the same thing over and over, you get the same result, so I tried something new, and it worked. Doesn't always work, but you never hit a homer if you don't swing for the fences.

Great shot. I think it works well in the sepia, even though the sepia adds warmth to something that we visually know to be a cold environment. I think it might also look good in a duotone conversion in the blue range. But I agree that since we see a lot in color, this is a nice change.
