So i just got off the phone with my daughter. She's been in the Dominican Republic for school for the past 4 months and is coming home tomorrow. She was very upset and told me she had been taking some pictures this afternoon while riding in the bus and apparently had set it next to her on the seat and forgot it was there & got off the bus. By the time she remembered she had left it, it was gone.:cry: It was just a few seconds as she caught the bus in the next block but....
So I asked her about her pictures and she said that there were about 2 months worth of pictures still on it that she hadn't taken the time to put on her laptop. So I've been sitting here feeling bad for her (even though I've been telling her to take the time to back everything up on cd's after putting them on her computer).
Anyway, just a reminder to everyone, especially those on a trip of some kind, to get them off the card, into the computer, and onto either a 2nd hard-drive or onto cd's.
I'm sure she'll never see her camera again. I guess I shouldn't have bought her a 2 GB card. A small card would have made her download her pics and she wouldn't have lost so many of them.
So I'm sitting here feeling sorry for her and about all I can tell myself is that she's 20 and has just learned 2 or 3 important lessons: 1. Don't set your camera down while on public transportation, 2. Backup your pics after each outing, and 3. Listen to your dad - sometimes he does know what he's talking about.:)
