On the start page there is a link to a free action for PS 6 that converts linear tiffs to non linear, plus has several other functions. The web page says it's for the D30 but I saw that linear tiff's were an option in EVU that came with my 20D, so I had to give it a try. It works very well, seems like there's more depth to the data when converted this way.

Give it a try, I'm curious if it will work in PSCS. Here's a direct link:

Try this:
-Save a raw as linear tiff in EVU.
-Run "convert only 342" action in PS
-Save as .psd in sRGB
-Change to 8 bit, then duplicate layer, blend=Mulitply
-Reduce opacity to taste

Amazing!

When I had a D30 I used to use Breezebrowser to convert to linear and batch process in PS using Pekka's 342 full linear conversion atn. The results created were the best IMO of any other raw procees. Too bad Pekka doesn't have a 20D or we might of seen another version of 342. :( I'm sure the results would put any of the RAW converts available today to shame. :D
