Is there any downside to having my 580ex custom function for quick flash set on? As I understand, this will allow the flash to flash at least a bit even if it hasn't fully recycled. At a wedding reception, for instance, say at the cutting the cake, I take the 'nice' posed shot, and then suddenly the couple goes nuts and are messing each other up with the cake, wouldn't I rather be able to grab that shot with even a bit of flash rather than miss it altogether because the flash is still recycling?
Obviously in any posed shots I would wait for the flash to fully recycle.
