Hi,

currently I use EOS 1 film bodies. To check DOF, there is a control button on the front of the body near the lens mount.

I'm looking into buying the 20D (my first digital then). It doesn't seem to have this same DOF button. Does it have a DOF checking feature? How does it work?

Thanks,

Aero

Left side of the camera, right near the lens mount, underneath the lens release button. Page 79 of the manual if you've downloaded the PDF.

It works by closing down the aperture to the settings you've chosen as long as you hold the button.

Yes, the 20D has a DOF preview button. It's on the front of the camera, on the lower left (when looking through the viewfinder) near the bayonet mount . You push it, and it stops down the aperture to whatever aperture value the camera is currently set to. Works like a charm.

HTH,
Tim

Oops,

I held a 20D in a shop the other day, but in 5 min time you can't check on everything this nice machine provides
I use the DOF preview constantly on my EOS 1, couldn't do without it.

Thanks for the fast replies
