20d AF and kit lens

I personally think I have just gone insane, after like half a semester with a 50mm set to MF on my 35mm camera for class, picking up the 20d and putting the kit lens on seems different, esp from my 300d which was slower but accurate...I keep having this weird focusing issue, the AF doesnt want to focus most of the time...put another lens on and its fine...but the AF on the kit lens just isnt being accurate, i have to try like 2-3 times and then it zeros in...

anyone noticed anything like this?

lens might be faulty. I'd take it to Canon for a check.

Nope. Sounds like you have a bad lens.
