I have my camera set to automatically rotate the images when I take vertical photos. However, when I download the images using Canon utility or Digital Photo Professional, that came with my 20D, The images are rotated in in the above aplications but not in the windows folder that the image is saved to.
Does anyone know why this is happening? Do I really have to sit and manually rotate 50 out of 200 images?
Thanks.

I had a problem with this.It was all to do with waiting till everything is downloaded.
It downloads first then rotates
Hopefully that's all the problem is

Do you connect your 20D to the pc, or do you use a CF reader?
When I use the CF reader and use the Canon programs, the image is rotated in the given program yes, but if you save the image to the actual windows folder it will not rotate.
I don't know. If anyone has any thoughts, please post them.
I never connected the camera to the pc. I doubt that would make a difference though.

I may be mistaken, but I believe enabling autorotation in the camera simply makes it embed an image orientation flag in the EXIF header. Applications that read this flag can perform the autorotation. Photoshop and other autorotation-aware viewers will do this. I believe Windows XP does not check this flag.
So, this means either you have to do the rotation yourself, or use an autorotation-aware viewer.
