CF card question

I asked recently about speed of cf cards and you smart boys referred me to Rob Galbraith's site and his excellent review of them.

So, my wife asks me what I want for christmas (within reason, unfortunately) and I tell her the top rated card for the 20d, the Sandisk III Extreme 1gb Card.

She can't find it on B&H website. What gives? Is it not out yet?

The Extreme III 1Gbs were supposed to have shipped to retailers last week. Not sure what the hold up is.

I found this place claiming they are in stock, but they are showing a picture of the original extreme card, not the Extreme III.

It was supposed to ship in November. Adorama had it listed as 'late November' on their site, but that is as close as I have seen.

Good luck, I have been checking B&H almost every day looking for it.

any clue on how much faster and the price?

The only price I found so far is $125, Galbraith shows it to be about the same speed on the camera for JPEGs, almost 10% faster for raw on the 20D, but the big improvement is transfer speed to the PC which is supposed to be double the speed of the Extreme, although I'm not sure which card readers can support the 20MB/sec they are claiming.
