Wasn't sure where to put this (people/PA/sports?), but I was thrilled with capturing this shot at the circus the other night.
20D, 85 1.8, 1600 ISO, 1/500s, f/2
Minor tweaking in LR to even the lighting out a bit (spotlights), and cloned out an apparatus that was directly behind their heads, no NR & minor sharpening.
Not cropped at all. We were seated in the front row.

Thank you! I'll definitely be printing this one. I was thrilled to get her face like that, even if it is a touch soft. Getting a decent exposure was tough with the darn spotlights. I don't even mind the blown highlights.
In the original you can see some of the talcum powder in the air above their arms, but I'm not good enough to save it in PP, if it even could be without making it look really fake.

As you can see from my post count it is rare that I post, and I'm quite an amateur and am only recently getting more serious about improving but I am learning every day. However, I couldn't resist posting a reply on this picture, I really really like it a LOT. I prefer shooting action sequences (ballroom dance, cultural festival performances and the like) and I really love everything about this photo. To me, you captured a feeling as much as just a photo. I see determination, strength, and grace when I look at this picture. This one is definitely worthy of printing, and if I could get such a nice shot I would be really proud of it. Someday, I hope I do!
Thanks for sharing it with us. :)

Wow, thank you. As I said, I was so happy that this came out as good as it did. I didn't take many shots of the trapeze, since my shutter speed wasn't quite what I wanted, and the spotlights were killing my exposures. I took a few and just watched, these are truly amazing athletes. I cannot imagine the discipline it takes to perfect something like this.
