So, my mom wants to renew her passport. This time instead of wasting $10, I decided to take her picture and get a print. Since I don't have a photo printer, I went over to Wally world Photo Studio. I asked the lady working there to print me a custom 2x2 for a passport. She stated she cannot print it, I asked why not? She replies, because we have a digital camera which is hooked up to the printer. I told the lady my 40D is a digital camera which can be hooked up to the printer as well. But, no, she's only allowed to use the camera they have! I also got the same answer when I went across town to another studio. Tomorrow, I'm thinking of stopping by a Professional Photography studio. Hopefully, he will allow me to make a print.

Just wondering if you checked the requirements for passport photos. They are very specific. http://travel.state.gov/passport/guide/guide_2081.html
If everything meets spec, then you may be able to download and print from your card at a Kiosk perhaps.

You should be able to go into any Walmart or other discount photo place and use one of their public access machines to print your image. You will of course have to have it resized properly inside of a 4x6 in order for this to work right.
If I understand you correctly you wanted them to run it through the same system that they print their passport photos. If this is the case then I can't say as I blame them for saying no, offering of passport photos is part of their business no matter how much we may dislike them. Now that you've done all this running around that 10.00 is probably looking like a deal:D:D

$10.00 for two 2x2 a deal? Not really, as it will cost less than 50cents to get a print. And, yes I've read over the requirements. I've found a "DIY" on google, so I will try to fit it on a 4x6.

Dup the images and arrange them a 4x4 square and go to a kiosk at many reatail outlet that make prints and print all four on a 4x6 or arrange 6 prints over a borderless 4x6

try http://epassportphoto.com/
it is free, and very easy. I used that for my mom's passport photo, worked fine. Send the photo to walgreens.com, and only the cost is only 19 cents.
