Look at the sample picture of Canon for the 1 Ds and tell me - can you also see dead pixel problem and/or dust of the 1Ds

Yes, you're right. There are a lot of brown-out spots. At first I thought they were spots on the backdrop but they're on her dress as well. They aren't on her face. I wonder if they have touched it up.
I didn't notice it on the girl with the blue dress picture that I downloaded. But on that one I mostly just checked out the sharpness around the eyes. And they may have touched up her face.

Canon want your money not your observations on inferior images. If you want to see good images you have to go to Hassleblads site, they seem to still be concerned about the image not the number of pixels you can cram into a small space. The new 6x 4.5 back on their new 6x4.5 camera has almost gone unnoticed in the pixel rush. By the way I am a Canon user but dedicated to images not what takes them. david

Same thing was there with first 1D demo photos - full of dust. I think the photographer was given the camera or two and he kept changing lenses all the time and handled it as a film camera (many pros hang them on strap without a lens) and they could not retouch the photos as they provide also the raw image.
I'm sure dust is still a lesser problem with 1Ds as with 1D - I've talked with 1D users (photojournalists) and the only complain they have is the dust problem. 1D has CCD which sucks dusts, CMOS should be less affected in careful usage.
What demo photos show me at first glimpse:
- resolution is excellent.
- antialiasing filter is disabled and this can produce moire
- colors look very natural and saturation is handled well
- ISO 1250 looks quite good, color noise is handled well, although there are strangely isolated areas there with more noise.
- you can see there what will be the big full frame dilemma when they get popular: lens resolution in edges is never that good.
- can't say anything about dynamic range - looks same as with D30.

The 1Ds sensor is picking up alot of very small dust particles as demonstrated by the sample photos which were taken with the same lense at f/18. My worst dirt days with the D60 haven't produced similar results. Question- Is this this sensor design (pitch, thicker glass cover? ) more senisitive to particulate matter on the glass cover at f/18?
