Another Mono Converision

Again, bonus points for Lyric Identification. (HINT: NOT Michael Jackson!)

This time we are in Seattle (again - or still - same trip as calling all angels), and the setting is the Space Needle. The question is how do you shoot something that has been seen a billion times - and still have the shot look interesting.

I liked the Color version (one of the Chosen 15 (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=47411)) and I sat down last night to play with my Mono Plu-In and I thought WOW, this looks sharp!

neat neat neat

i like the composition you worked out. a fresh view of a popular subject.

i'd like to see a version without the tiny, whispy clouds. my first thought was "what is that 5#!7 in the sky?" but then i realized it was itty bitty clouds. particularly with the dramatic mono version, having a featureless sky would make the composition stronger.

Welcome to Seattle and very nice picture. One minor critique (and this is falls under the personal opinion section), I would have liked to see a few more pixels between the top of the frame and the space needle. Not much, but just a few.

As for which version I like better, I'm not quite sure. The color version is nice because you have the nice blue sky... but the mono version gives it a look to distinguish it from your everyday space needle photos.
