IS there any lens hoods available for the basic lens? My wife was taking some outside shots and was getting quite a bit of lens flare on the photos. I was told a hood would help. I've checked around but not really sure.

Thanks

Canon says the EW-60C is the one for it.

You can also just get a cheap collapsible rubber hood.

Yes, the EW-60C is the one for it, like Jon said. I bought it when I bought my kit, for $25 from B&H. It's a very small hood, only maybe about 1" long or a little more, and is very thin plastic.

I bought two of these on ebay for $14.95 USD each just the other day. Do a quick search and I'm sure you'll find more.

I got the rubber "wide angle" one from B&H... Works well...
Later, someone posted a suggestion that a normal rubber hood used with some of it rolled back on itself would work... This might give more shading at the 55mm end when unrolled...

Thanks. I called BH and they were out. I'll check ebay.
