Hey Everyone, this is my first post here. I bought an sd630 a couple of years ago and love this camera (except the red-eye) but a few days ago i was flipping through the pics on the camera and accidentally hit the zoom trigger at the same time as another button.

immediately after i did this the buttons stopped working on my camera. the only buttons that respond at all are the power and the shutter buttons. i assume this might be a firmware bug, or just a stark coincidence. is there any way i can reinstall the firmware?? what else can i try?

thanks,
dave

Pop the batteries and let it sit a few hours. The longer the better. There may also be a "reset" procedure in the manual. What happens when you're in "Review" mode?

ok, i tried letting the camera sit over night without the battery installed and nothing changed. none of the buttons work in the the review mode either. i can't scroll pics, access menus, nothing. should i bother sending it out to get fixed, or should i just get a new one?

Rough guess it'd cost maybe $150 for repair. Would you go for an A640 or A650, or something else, if starting afresh?
