I'm looking for a backpack that is below $90 and has more personal storage than additional lens space (I won't be using more than two lenses). I'm always up on a mtn. putting in new bike trails and features or just hiking so I need something that's durable as well. Reason I need more personal space is for bike tools, spare parts, rain jacket, food/water, etc. and I'm not a pro photographer.
The best I've seen is the Tamrac adventure 6, any other ideas?

You might be better off finding a regular day pack that you can put camera inserts into, or crafting your own inserts from a closed-cell sleeping pad.

I've got the Lowepro Rover AW II and find it pretty handy. Top compartment is decent. I chose it over the Tamrac because of the tripod holder, which is very handy if you ever want to lug a tripod around with you (it's very stable).

This is precisely what I did, for carrying a medium format SLR system around South America without attracting too much attention to my gear.

After trying out a Tamrac Adventure 9 (camera on the bottom, storage on top), I would agree that a regular daypack is the way to go. The A9 is just too big and solid a pack for all practical purposes. It feels like having a small child on your back, and I'm a fairly large guy.
