just doing some recon and shot these two. Second shot was later, on full throttle. He ran mid 7sec. Unfortunately, no flash on #2 and it's blurred quite a bit.

tripod would have been helpful for the 2nd shot (unless you were using one)

nope- handheld. flash might have helped too, but I didn't throw it on.

I think a higher ISO and faster shutter would've caught it without the need for a flash.

F2.8 lens if you have one and a flash would have worked real well.

had the 2.8 lens, and had the flash; just never put them together for the shot. I didn't touch iso either, and should have. thanks for the comments.

Higher ISO and open up your aperture along with a flash. You need to play with the settings at this time of day of you will over expose them.

This one was taken about the same time of day as yours by my guess.
Settings-ISO 400, F 2.8, Shutter 1/250, I don't have the flash info but I did have it on. You can set your flash power down to 1/8 and this will allow your flash to pop a few times if your using burst mode. You can adjust your exposure by working with your ISO. Hope this helps you get pointed in the right direction.
